Historic District Projects

Historic homes are usually designated as such because of its architecture or its importance to the culture or history of the area. In each location, there are standards and guidelines meant to preserve its historic status. In the city of Kalamazoo, the Office of Historic Preservation is the keeper and reinforcer of such standards.

Repairs and updates to historic properties are very specific and can be costly. These properties are often eligible for special grant awards for preservation. V&B Kalamazoo was awarded grants to support their first rehab project from the national and Michigan historic preservation offices.
